Edge of the Earth featuring 30 Seconds To Mars (2007)

When platinum-selling rock & roll band Thirty Seconds To Mars set out to make an epic music video in the environmentally-threatened Arctic, the band, fronted by brothers Shannon and Jared Leto, did not expect that torrential weather, dangerous icebergs and airline industry bureaucracy might conspire to make this production one of the most difficult endeavors of their career. "Edge of the Earth" is the behind-the-scenes story of one of the music industry's hottest bands working to produce a global awareness, high-production-value music video against the backdrop of the environmental trouble-spot that is the Arctic

"Possession Of Mara" (2025) Indie Film Review-A genre-bending, abuse-addressing effort that defies mainstream normalcy

Dramatic Horror!!! Wait, what?? Did you say "dramatic horror"?? IS there such a thing?? I mean, TRULY. Well, if San Francisco-based, Pakistani-born independent filmmaker Dr. Hassan Zee and this film critic have anything to say about it, there IS such a beast as experienced through the director's newest feature film set to officially debut October 4th in the City by the Bay. Folks, indie film will always be a bastion of experimentation and originality, and this film for me fits that bill.

I Can’t Believe I Just Now Heard of 'Tangerine'; We Need More Narratives Representing Black Transgender Women

Films staring black transgender actresses/actors are few and far between, it’s refreshing to see a demographic represented in film that hardly gets any attention.  This is especially important as the Black trans community has been shown in studies to face the highest level of discrimination amongst general trans and non-binary groups. That is why it’s so crucial that we amplify their voices through any way we can, storytelling being a great medium to do so.

What Netflix's “Shadow and Bone” Gets Right and Wrong with the Books’ Diversity

Netflix’s Shadow and Bone has a complicated relationship with race. It has a diverse cast, but not without its problems. Based on Leigh Bardugo’s two book series, the show features characters from the Shadow and Bone trilogy, which is very straight and white, and the Six of Crows duology, which is much more diverse. When bringing together a cast and writing about these characters, the team behind the show expanded upon some of the representation missing from the first trilogy, then seemed to take away representation from the duology. Shadow and Bone seems to play a bit of a push and pull game when it comes to portraying diversity onscreen.
