When Wang Wei, a small private business owner, was struggling to run his health club, his father Wang Dezhi, who had joined the scientific expedition team by mistake 20 years ago and had been missing for many years, suddenly appeared in front of him. After 20 years, his father looked the same, but his memory was disordered, as if he came from another time and space. His father told Wang Wei the story of the scientific expedition team: a group of people drove into the desert for scientific investigation, and when they were preparing to return, they found a submarine that should have appeared on the other side of the earth. What was even more unexpected was that there was a "Pisces meteorite" from outer space in the submarine. Anyone who touched it would open a parallel time and space, bringing themselves to another time and space. In order to survive, they had to start a fight...
Hustlers was meant to be a film about female empowerment. And it was, to a certain extent. I expected and wanted this to be a kickass and complex film of sexy women who use their confidence, skills, and wits towards a brilliant plan to get revenge on the Wall Street guys who wronged them.
Overall, Cruella stands above the other Disney retellings. Its dark and bold, and that is exactly what these retellings should be. Emma Stone continues to prove she's one of the finest young actresses working today, and Emma Thompson gives one of the best villain performances in the last decade. The fashion is stunning, the dogs are adorable, and the story is wildly vibrant and original. It's classic movie fun, and it shouldn't be overlooked.
The Last Son of Krypton returns as the kind-hearted, blue-eyed boy scout we all know and love.
In Saudi Arabia, a little girl (Wadjda) is told she can't have a bike because she's a girl. Wadjda struggles to obtain a bicycle to race her friend, Abdullah, due to the gender inequality and cultural norms of Saudi Arabia.
By undermining the appeal and credibility of black characters, the show compromises the very idea of diversity and representation it sets to promote.
The more we learned with each passing minute the bigger the reveal. This film ends with a serious bang and it was truly a joy to watch.
