Commanding officer Ivan of the People's Expeditionary Force embarks on a mission to annex a small unclaimed island off the coast of Zhelinda, accompanied by his newly conscripted cadet Wesley. But as the two make landfall, the party loses contact with their home base, as their country is overthrown. With limited supplies and no escape, Ivan and Wesley must settle their ideological differences to maintain a grip on their defunct nation's last colony- not to mention, survive as island castaways in this tale of political and personal intrigue.
