In-your-dreams handsome Frank Allen takes this hard fought give-and-take bruiser match from David Atkins. MATCH THREE: CHUCK YOUNG vs. ROB FRANK. Frank Rob takes his time forcing the match submission from Chuck Young. MATCH FOUR: SKIP ROBERTS vs. BART TYLER. Big blond bodybuilder Bart Tyler works over and brutalizes exceedingly hot muscleboy Skip Roberts to a painful and humiliating submission loss.
In all honesty, “Black and Blue” is a satisfying experience, complete with solid craftsmanship. With the help of cinematographer Dante Spinotti, Deon Taylor (the director) creates a murky, lived in atmosphere.
Films staring black transgender actresses/actors are few and far between, it’s refreshing to see a demographic represented in film that hardly gets any attention. This is especially important as the Black trans community has been shown in studies to face the highest level of discrimination amongst general trans and non-binary groups. That is why it’s so crucial that we amplify their voices through any way we can, storytelling being a great medium to do so.
“Candyman ain't a 'he.’ Candyman is the whole damn hive." Candyman represents all Black victims of white supremacy, and this art form narratively conveys it in a succinct, adulatory way, the history of which is rare to find.
Not only does the system prevent upward mobility, but it makes it incredibly easy to slide from comfortably middle class to unhoused.
Twisting what seems to be obvious setups and frameworks is what sets the story structure of Squid Game apart. I appreciate that this narrative is complex but not complicated; an easy enough plot to wrap your head around while still treating the audience like an equal participant in this social commentary
This short film was an overall creative success.
