How powerful can a story be when it is stripped to the bare essentials of just a room, a handful of people and raw human voice?
'Playing with Fire' was clearly a film made for a kid or tween-ish audience. Keeping that in mind, I thought 'Playing with Fire' was alright, though it did portray some harmful stereotypes.
The film's storylines read as allegories for the queer experience and that's a source of solace for LGBTQIA+ fans!
As Sexual Assault Awareness Month comes to an end, I’d like to urge viewers and filmmakers to take a long and hard look at how rape is portrayed on screen.
"Abominable" is an exciting story for children and a great step forward for positive Asian representation.
