Gemini Man Review: A Poor Utilization of a Promising Cast
You can have the best filmmaker and cast in the world, but if the script is lacking, you’re in a troublesome state. Such is the case with Gemini Man, a film full of tremendous artists.

A delightful dark comedy about a group of girls who accidentally kill someone. Seven young female criminals, led by an over-enthusiastic social worker, work off community service hours by collecting garbage in a haunted forest when they accidentally kill someone. Flashbacks tell their backstories in a mix of folk-horror and teen comedy.

This film manages to be simultaneously topical and timeless. Without being preachy, it highlights society’s flawed relationship with tech; insights into the complex ideas of family struggle are expertly dispersed among a perfectly paced and balanced story.
Essentially 'Get Out' but for white women, 'Don't Worry Darling' has strong material with its twist reveal, but the writing and directing falter trying to execute it.
Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion is a fan-favorite, as are some of the more science fiction angled movies like 28 Days Later or World War Z. I recently watched the 1995 Wolfgang Peterson-directed movie, Outbreak for the first time, which is currently available on Netflix.
Of the 28 total films I watched, just six of them were queer or featured queer characters in some way.
Films can alleviate alienation by presenting realities where the viewers feelings are shared by onscreen characters. The film 'Shrek' can be interpreted as a transgender story.
