Soon after, and with his uncle's stories fresh in his mind, Abood finds himself lost in the streets of Amman, where he meets a young stranger who offers to guide him home as she shares her thoughts on the country, the people, and her identity as a Palestinian living in Jordan.

For anyone who is not a cis white woman, a justice-fueled murderous rampage is not framed as liberation. Instead, they contribute to harsh stereotypes that vilify minority women with dangerous consequences.
I highly recommend Dark Waters. It’s a highly engrossing picture, which lends itself to cautionary storytelling. The dark information continually grows, inspiring change and accountability altogether. Overall, Haynes’ picture will not be known for its inclusiveness--but it will be known for being a fantastic, engrossing film.
