When the demonic Seonggun steals the power of the physical realm and tries to usurp the loser's position, the heavenly emperor seals the 'power stone', the power of the physical realm, to two female babies and hides them in the human realm to prevent the plot of the demon army. Years later, Ma-gun seduces Tang Mi-myeok, a woman from the Tang Dynasty, and informs her that there is a 'boshen statue' in the human world, who has been searching for a thousand years, and even finds her soul. However, this is a ploy by the demon army to find the two princesses and obtain the 'Skill Stone', and the ' Conservation Prize' is in danger... Will Sang' be able to awaken the divine power and protect the ability stone and the two princesses?
A refreshing twist is that all the kids’ powers are…kind of useless. There’s a kid who can only move in slow motion, a kid who has every power in the world but can only use them randomly, and our main character Missy who has no powers at all. The thesis of the film seems to be that it doesn’t matter what kind of powers you have, its the way you use them, which is good for the warm and fuzzies.
Movie explained - Despite the glaring flaws present, Young Adult Matters is held together by the performances from Yoo Mi and Hani, who keep the story afloat. Though an interesting story, Young Adult Matters is worth watching solely for these performances. Among its brilliant performances is a messy, self-indulgent, and at times overwhelmingly brutal story with more potential than follow through.
Earth and Blood is slow, but it still has it’s entertaining moments. If you’re into thrillers, or want to watch something new, then this film might be for you. As for me, Earth and Blood was tolerable enough.
I can say without question, that this is the first movie I’ve ever seen where art imitates life so much that I could 100% identify with it on a personal level. The predominately Black cast of characters are people with hopes, dreams, fears, and ambitions.
