Vasily Katanyan

Born on February 21, 1924 — died April 30, 1999 (aged 75)

Of Armenian origin, Katanyan grew up in Tiflis (now Tbilisi). He was the director of the first Soviet panoramic film, "Spring Road" (1959). He is the son of Vasily Abgarovich Katanyan.
