Born in Trujillo, Peru on March 12, 1989 (age 37)

Martín Rebaza Ponce de León is a director, screenwriter, editor, and cinematographer. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 29th Lima Film Festival (2025) for his film "Family Politics." In 2019, he produced and served as director of photography for "In the Middle of the Labyrinth," which was selected for the Mar del Plata Film Festival (2019) and the Rotterdam Film Festival (2020). His debut feature film, "Among These Trees I've Invented," had its international premiere at the Biarritz Latin America Film Festival (2021). He has received grants from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture on four occasions for his projects and was also awarded the Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen grant in Leipzig, Germany, where he currently resides. He has over 10 years of experience in various audiovisual productions and in cultural and political organizations working with vulnerable populations, community-based cultural initiatives, identity, and migration in Peru and Germany.
