Nobody 2 Review – Hutch on Vacation, Chaos Included

Hutch just wanted a family vacation, but chaos follows him everywhere. Nobody 2 is violent, stylish, and over-the-top in the best way possible.

MOVIE SCORE

The first Nobody surprised me. I went in with low expectations and walked out thinking, “Wow, Bob Odenkirk just pulled off being a badass action star.” So when Nobody 2 dropped, I was only excited to see Hutch back in action. Sequels can be tricky, sometimes they work and sometimes they feel like cash grabs. Luckily, this one works.

The setup is almost funny in how innocent it starts. Hutch just wants to take his family to a theme park he remembers from his childhood. It feels wholesome and nostalgic. But Hutch can’t have nice things. The park is in a small town run by corrupt locals who think they own everything. Then one of them smacks Hutch’s daughter and at that moment I knew it was over for him. Hutch flips the switch and the movie goes full-on revenge.

The action is just as crunchy and creative as the first movie. Hutch once again uses random objects as weapons and it never gets old. The soundtrack is great too, those needle drops add a darkly fun vibe to the fights. My favorite scene has to be the warehouse sequence. At first Hutch warns the sheriff to leave him and his family alone, trying not to cause trouble. But when he sees them kidnapping a boy, he storms back in and takes everyone out in his brutal, stylish way. He ends it all by blowing the entire warehouse to pieces. Then there’s the climax at the theme park, which takes things to another level. Hutch and his crew take on Lendina’s (Sharon Stone) assassins and tear the whole place apart. Watching the rides and attractions become part of the destruction was insane. I actually liked this finale more than the one in the first movie.

Bob Odenkirk was just outstanding here. The way he handles these action sequences at his age is amazing. He feels raw, believable, and still brings that dry wit that makes Hutch such a unique character. He really proves again that he can carry an action film.

The small-town corruption angle was also working really well for me. It had that “Walking Tall” vibe that kept me interested. But when Sharon Stone shows up as the big villain, it felt off. Her performance was too over the top and didn’t match the tone of the movie. Honestly, I would have preferred if Hutch just kept dismantling the corrupt town instead of dealing with a last-minute “final boss.”

Even with that, I still had a great time. Hutch doesn’t care about collateral damage when it comes to protecting his family, and that’s exactly what makes this series fun to watch. The last act might be ridiculous, but it’s ridiculously fun.

⭐ Final Verdict:

Nobody 2 is pure entertainment. You don’t have to think too hard, just sit back and enjoy. The action is solid, the pace never drags, and it’s simply a fun action movie that gives you exactly what you came for. “Hutch may plan for peace, but trouble always finds a way to tag along.”
