
Sem Beex is a Dutch film director, cinematographer and editor from Moergestel. He is a co-founder of the production collective Studio Hulot, which he established alongside filmmaker Jelle Lamers. His work is characterized by a stylized and observational visual approach, with an emphasis on atmosphere, sensory experience and deliberate pacing. His projects include Echoes (2023), Uit de Maat, Aaw éézer, Bolle Piet (2024), Road to Nowhere (2024), and Liefde na de Dood (2026), working across directing, cinematography and editing. Beex is also part of the film collective Groovy Movies, which brings together independent filmmakers and showcases their work through an annual premiere event.
