
Born in Bari, Italy, on July 21, 2002, and raised in Massafra (Taranto), Saverio Marzullo developed a passion for photography and filmmaking during his teenage years. After graduating from the Scientific High School at IISS D. De Ruggieri, he moved to Rome, where he earned a Master's degree in Cinema, Television and Multimedia Production from Roma Tre University. He wrote and directed The Time of Strawberries (Il tempo delle fragole, 2024), his narrative short film directorial debut, and later directed The Prince and the Witch (Il principe e la strega, 2025), which has been screened at several international film festivals. He has served as a Young Jury member at numerous film festivals, including the Venice International Film Festival (2026, Venice Classics section), the Pordenone Docs Fest (2023–2024), the SalinaDocFest (2023), the Trieste Film Festival (2023), and the Rome International Documentary Festival (2022). In addition, he has worked in the directing department on several film productions and as a camera operator for a major social media channel.
