Born in Joliette, Québec, Canada on March 14, 1975 (age 51)

Élise Desaulniers is the Executive Director of the Fondation Dépendances Montréal. From 2017 to 2022, she served as Executive Director of the Montreal SPCA. She is also an independent researcher and the author of the essays Je mange avec ma tête (2011), Vache à lait (2013), and Le défi végane 21 jours (2016), which have been translated into several languages and adapted for the French market. In 2019, she co-authored Tables véganes with Patricia Martin. She has also written numerous articles and received the Grand Prize for Independent Journalism in Quebec in 2015 (opinion category) for an essay on feminism and anti-speciesism.
