Marvel's Eternals: Why It Was a Good Idea... But The Execution Was Not.
Eternals is an interesting concept and unique visuals, but slow pacing and rushed character development suggests it should have been a mini-series.

Matthew Kazuo Firpo is an American film director, screenwriter, and photographer. Along with his cousin, Ryan, he wrote the story for the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Eternals. His debut documentary, Refuge, won Best Documentary at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and had its world premiere at SXSW. He graduated in 2012 from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts undergraduate program. At the age of 25, Firpo was named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 in 2016. His debut screenplay Ruintopped Hollywood's 2017 Black List. Until 2020, he was known professionally as Matt Firpo; he changed his public name to Kaz Firpo (based on his middle name) before the release of Eternals. Having Sersi be the central force in Eternals is unprecedented in its viewpoint and focus, from demonstrating a gentle type of leadership, to being overlooked in a group setting but succeeding in the goal at hand anyways, to having romantic options, to strength and integrity, and majority screen time - for a group that's given less screentime than aliens.
Do not trust Rotten Tomatoes. That is what I learned after watching Eternals. Critics currently rate it a 48%, but it's an amazing character-focused Marvel movie with positive diverse representation.
