Isa Rodríguez Aparicio
Isa Rodríguez Aparicio (Guatemala, 1997) filmmaker whose work explores memory, intimacy, and the emotional traces left by relationships and moments of change. Her approach to filmmaking is deeply connected to music, visual arts, and personal experiences, creating intimate stories centered on human connection. In 2023, she directed Fragmentos, her first short film as a writer and director, and Mercy, a personal portrait of her late aunt that reconstructs her memory of her through found footage and archival material. She is currently developing Fragmentados, her thesis short film. She moves across directing, art direction, and acting, with a particular interest in intimate stories, memory, personal archives, and visual storytelling. Her work is characterized by a sensitivity toward everyday moments, nostalgia, and the spaces between what is remembered and what is left behind. Through film, she seeks to transform personal experiences and emotions into stories that can resonate with others.
